Botanist's Basement

In the late 1970s, an eccentric botanist built a machine to care for his plants. Though he passed away more than forty years ago, the machine is still faithfully at work today.

I developed this animation with a special focus on the flora within the room. My aim was to create an atmosphere that felt old, damp and untouched by humans for years.

I’m puzzled by the purpose of this machine. My best guess is that the aviator who built it was working on a flight experiment of some sort.

I carefully considered the colours and lighting in this animation. The vibrant red and orange immediately capture the viewer's attention. Additionally, The light behind the machine highlights it as the main focus.
